LISY Development Products
If you have found your way here, I assume you have already some familiarity with the LISY Platform.
LISY Development - “LI”nux, “SY”stem - I would describe as a set of Pinball machine platforms, designed and created by a passionate hobbyist. These platforms, as of November 2022, include the LISY1, based on the Gottlieb System 1, LISY80, based on the Gottlieb System 80, and the LISY35, based on the early Bally –18, Bally –35, Stern 100 and Stern 200 boardsets. These utilize a Raspberry Pi, or Banana Pi for the MPU that is capable of running the original code, or code written with the Mission Pinball Framework (MPF). With this, someone with minimal training can start writing code for their early SS Gottlieb / Bally / Stern. The developer has uploaded the designs, build sheets, materials lists, etc. They are available to download for free.
The is absolutely no warranty, implied or explicit, regarding the designs, or the finished products.
Will these work in your machine? I don’t know. I’m not there to check that all fuses are of proper value, that your coils, diodes and lamp sockets are not dead-shorted, or that any tenuous grounding and residual battery damage are not fully resolved. If I list a board as “Tested Working” it’s exactly that. Assembled by me and put through its paces in a working machine.
The LISY Platform is powerful, versatile, and highly configurable. It is an excellent choice for someone who is a bit of a tinkerer, and perhaps somewhat adventurous. A pinball can be built, or rethemed, but the user must always vigilant, as to avoid any problems that could potentially damage their machine. You’ve been warned!
For myself, I am in awe of what the LISY developer has accomplished, and I wish to be supportive of his continuing efforts. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.
